Questions
Where do the results come from?
From public records, in every state: directors, officers and 10% owners in SEC insider filings; executive officers and directors in SEC Form D offerings; the authorized official of healthcare organizations (CMS NPI file); and company officers on motor-carrier USDOT registrations (FMCSA). In Alaska, California and Florida also every officer, manager, director and general partner in the state’s own register, in California the people on contractor licenses, and in Florida contractor, electrical, real estate, home-inspector and community-association-manager licenses (DBPR). Each result is tied to one company by that company’s own number and shows its source.
Why do I need the full name and the state?
State records have no person ID — only a name. A full first and last name in one state keeps the list short enough to compare. Add the city to narrow it further.
Is every result the same person?
Not necessarily. Two people can share a name. Each row shows the city on file and the company, so you can tell them apart — we never merge or label them as one person.
Why is someone missing?
Only people a register names in a company filing are here. Owners who are not listed as an officer or manager, sole proprietors outside these records and states we do not search yet will not appear.
What does it cost?
Everyone sees up to three results free. A longer list uses one check: a free account includes one, and paid plans include a number of checks every month that work for both company reports and searches by person.
Can I use this for hiring, renting or credit decisions?
No. USACIP is not a consumer reporting agency. Search by person is for seeing which companies someone runs before you do business with them — not for decisions about a person under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
